Restorative Dentistry

The way your teeth function is as important as how they look. Our teeth serve several important roles. They enable us to properly chew foods so that we can absorb nutrients, and they support the soft tissues of the face. Teeth that are broken, severely decayed or missing can be brought back to fully functional capabilities through restorative dentistry.

Thanks to advancements in technology and dental materials, restorations today not only return full function to teeth, but do so in a highly aesthetic manner that will look like your natural teeth. Others will notice your beautiful smile and not your dental work.

Depending on your needs, your restorative treatment may include:

Fillings This is one of the most common dental restorations. A filling is a durable, permanent restoration that repairs a tooth that is compromised due to decay. We can use tooth-colored filling material to blend in with your tooth so that when you talk or laugh, no one will notice your dental work.

Crowns These porcelain restorations are used to repair teeth that are cracked, broken, badly decayed, or teeth that have undergone root canal therapy. The crown fits over the tooth to restore its shape, improve its appearance, and return strength and integrity to it so you can bite and chew comfortably.

Bridges A fixed dental bridge is a good option for addressing one or more missing teeth. It spans the gap created by missing teeth and is supported by healthy teeth on either side. The prosthetic teeth in the bridge are coated in porcelain and matched to your natural teeth.

Partial dentures Similar to a bridge, a partial denture addresses multiple missing teeth. However, it is removable. This restoration consists of prosthetic teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic base. The base is held in place by a metal framework secured to crowns on the natural teeth on either side of the gap.

Full dentures Dentures are a fixed or removable restoration that provides a natural-looking replacement when you have lost all of your teeth or have had them removed.
